my errant dog, teddy jack, got out on tuesday and was picked up by the dogcatcher. when he was sprung from his cell, this a.m., an elderly man walked into the shelter, with a small carrier..inside was a small grown terrier, girl, and a male cat. they had been raised together from babyhood. my daughter, being the kind heart that she is, took them. the elderly man had to move and the apartment that he was moving to, wouldn't take pets. so, we have two new members of our very extended family. after i move, if the animals can stand to be apart, i'll take the little terrier. she is tan and white and has great scruffy hair..very wiry. the cat is extremely handsome and loving. we'll just see how this plays out. here, i am, broke and thinking of adopting another mouth to feed. but what is most important, is that these two babies have a good home.......tell me that we did "good".......xoxo pat {{{{little dog and cat}}}} {{{{little dog and cat}}}}

the little dog won't eat much.. {{{{little dog and cat}}}}...and she would sleep with me. {{{{little dog and cat}}}} but, if they are unhappy, separated, we'll leave them be.

'Course you did good, luv, no matter how it all plays out. An act of compassion -- so sadly rare in the world today -- has a power and a beauty that are just plain undeniable. Ta. Cheshire Cat

You did more than "good" you did "WONDERFUL" There is always room for one or two more mouths....they don't eat that much more than what you already have & hearts always have room to love more too. Guess I found that the love I give is returned more than 100 fold of that which I give. Thus the 13 dogs (2 adopted) & 4 horses oh yes, can't forget the little mice I have living in my garage.

You also did a wonderful thing for the man who brought his babies into the pound....you provided him peace of mind, knowing where his babies were going to. Can you imagine how he would have felt, walking away from the pound not knowing where his babies would end up.

Just think also, if tedy jack hadn't been caught by those awful dog catchers, you wouldn't have been there to adopt your new babies. There seems to usually be something good that comes from something bad. I always figure that opportunities come into my life for reasons that I have no knowledge of. When we give of ourselves, we will find peace knowing that we have done the right thing. I am sure these new memembers of your family will pour back all the love they receive.

Debbie

you made me cry. i had not fully thought about the elder's relief and peace of mind.i was thinking about the babies. my daughter is so compassionate and she knew that we would fit them in....

the way she told me about it, was to take me out to her tahoe..to see something. i thought it would be Stella. and there were the two babies, snuggled together, in the carrier. i've only bought one dog in my life. fayeroe. every other one found me.

and teddy jack is slightly off the hook. {{{{little dog and cat}}}} he sure was glad to see us. {{{{little dog and cat}}}} wowow, you have more dogs than we do! at one time, on the big ranch, we had 11 cats. all spayed and neutered, i must add. people dropped animals out there on a weekly basis.

thanks, everyone. these are going to be two loved little ones. p
