How crazy does it sound for a person to seriously tell you that they might have been a certain person in their previous lifetime.

It depends upon the circumstances.

Have they had intense auras in which they strongly recall these same things happening in their life? I've experienced that MANY times in my life ~ I could have sworn that I was psychic and dreamt years before of these things happening in my life now. Those turned out to be a common beginning of complex partial seizures. Not crazy there.

I am skeptical if their belief is that they were a powerful, well-known person in history. No one ever seems to convince themselves that they were living centuries ago, as a peon slave. That's where my skepticism comes in.

No it's not crazy. It's either a pick up line... they had strong spiritual experience to make them believe it is so.

I've had a close friend once discuss something like this with me... She was trying to understand the bond between us, and then looked inside herself, to say she'd been to see a psychic and firmly believed we'd been sisters, or a mother/daughter set-up in a previous life.
It's quite hard for me to understand or believe, as i am a Christian.
But there you go - it's not that unique to have someone tell you about their previous lives

Not crazy at all, allthough considering where i'm from the diverse type of people around here and the circles i mingle in and socialize with....no not crazy at all it actually the phrase "must have been from my passed life" gets tossed around a bit.

Btw,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reincarnation

Large chunk of world's population believes in reincarnation. It is not any crazier than burning bushes and Jesus raising from dead.

I would get a copy of Bruce Liptons, Ph.D.'s book (like I did), 'The Biology of Belief,' and give some serious thought to the fact that it may be possible.

Love and best wishes Jasmine

thanks everyone. I was feeling really akin to Elizabeth Barrett Browning the other day. Still do. I have talked about such things with friends as well, thanks. I was just thinking it would sound crazy to say anything of the sort to anyone, the friend in question has since moved away

Oh my goodness, there are so many much more "crazy" things to hear or say. And I bet many people wish that was the craziest thing they thought or said.

Really crazy people don't wonder if they sound crazy or not, I think??

no its not crazy. a lot of people believe in reincarnation (belief that one lives many lives and upon death is reborn as new people, plants or animals).
I find the concept quite fascinating myself. Right now Im reading the fictionalized book the reincarnation of peter proud thanks to one of my clients.

if you go to the library and research the topic of reincarnation, past life regression you can find many studies and documentations of people, religions that hold to the belief of being born again / reincarnation. its amazing how many documentations there are to how some people have supposedly come back time and time again being related to or within the circle of friends of the same people, possibly to right wrongs, relive and better their lives.

just imagine what if there is more to death and dying besides just the end. imagine being able to come back in a next life time to make changes that have gone wrong in this life time.

some people and religions believe in God and other higher powers, and others people and religions believe in reincarnation. in my opinion its all good.
