k, so, Ive recently realized that people today really have no sense or dont care anymore about having comon sense
for example, my mom would be yalling at me, i go quiet. And she asks are you listetning?
Of course i am! i didnt go ---ing deaf i just stopped replying
i hate stupid questions
"if you dont know then who does"
It just pisses me off, and then she asks me why i dont talk to her like "normal" kid.

or at school, the kids are just plain ignorant they dont pay attention and they think they will score a deal with a rap label, which they wont. Then they ask me to let them copy my stuff, and i do because the way i tihnk about it is, they arent learning anything from copying, and if they didnt copy they still wont learn anything. Most of todays youth who acts all "gangster" wont amount to anything in life that doesnt involve and red&yellow uniform.

Who really thinks that 'sppeelin l1ek dis iz kool' ? I see it ALL the time on facebook and it vexes me that they refused to learn grammar and spelling at such a basic level. It really isnt hard to type a few extra letters, and it doesnt take any longer to read than it does when they type like 2 year olds.

just how i feel now.

I suppose if your dyslexic then it's acceptable, but if your just doing it because you're lazy then I don't value you as a being on any level close to anyone who writes like the language was meant to be written.

The stupidity isn't with the spelling it's with the continual disruption of class, lack of effort, and failure to think when they should. Thats whats wrong with most of this generation.

Can I assume you're English? Sounds like you are. I value English people because they're smarter then Americans. Not to say americans aren't smart, but the majority of them are just simpletons.

Because if they're trying to convey a message that for some reason I would need to know, I wouldn't be able to understand them due to their inability to spell.

I don't hate you for it, I don't take spelling on the internet seriously unless you have more annoying problems then that, then I just add the bad spelling so it's more justifiable for me to hate them lol

You may want to develop the wonderful art of - selective hearing - very convenient if others hollering, noises, bother you. It's much more calming actually. Less judgemental also. I have taught over 8,000 High School and University students. And was awarded "Teacher of The Year", I disagree that the majority of students in the USA are simpletons.

I'm only speaking from what I have seen, in my school and a few others which I hear have terrible kids.

What do you teach?

I was born into a generation full of kids who value looks over soul, and care more about reality TV shows than reality itself- I know kids who miss Jersey Shore more than they'd probably miss their dogs. It's sad, but there's still a HUGE number of people from fifteen to twenty that know where reality lies, so don't lose heart.

I know how easy it is to feel this way when you sit in class and are surrounded by egotistical and entitled students all day long. Been there--done that. (You might look into Generation Me by Jean M. Twenge. Here's a link.)

I think it's an issue for every generation--the young are more spoiled, more obnoxious, more entitled than their parents and this divide creates a culture clash. But I wonder what will happen to the next generation, who are predicted to do worse than their parents for the first time in American history?

You know, I don't think everyone in our (I'm 17) generation is necessarily a "simpleton," either. My mom used to work with children with learning disabilities, and you couldn't believe how many were truly kind and sincere despite the fact that they couldn't learn to read or speak. I don't think it has much to do with intelligence as it does character. It's fine to be an optimist--to have dreams to play in the NBA or, as my friend aspires to "clean out the dirty cops," as she says--but when one thinks they are better than everyone else, when life is "guaranteed" and "fair," then I think they're in for a terrible reality check when they're older.

People take school for granted. Some day, after working at McDonald's for 20 years and still earning minimum wage, they'll look back and regret their decisions. Hopefully, they'll learn their lesson soon enough to teach it to their kids.

It's fine to have dreams, but when your on your phone in class checking the scores from last nights game, skipping class and going to the school gym instead to fool around with friends among other things people at my school does, thats kind of crossing the line as far as acceptable-ness goes. (Yeah i know its not word, deal with it :P)

Heres a couple links, they sort of prove my point. (Im not saying ALL are, and note these are't the kids im talking about, these are adults.)

Now certainly you can't say a whole nation is stupid because of the ignorance of some. But i hate it when they think there going to get further ahead then those who actually know more.

I really don't know, i just get angry at a lot of people for thinking that life is guaranteed.
