I was reminded today while recovering from a day of cycling yesterday that I had stopped doing something that I was getting some really positive results with. Its called Tapping.

I am really sloppy sometimes about learning a new coping technique but then dropping it. Usually because it starts to bore me or I just get lazy about keeping it up.

I have been tapping today whenever I started to feel the anxiety or negiatve thinking or fear of the unknown creep in and start to overwhelm me. I feel so much better for it and am going to do it again before I get into bed to improve my odds for a good nights sleep.

I wanted to share the link to a site I joined a few weeks ago and see if anyone else wants to join me with using Tapping and sharing their experiences with it.

I am motivated for two reasons. One, I know if I am doing this with others I am more likely to stick with it and two, I think it is useful and want other to learn the benefits.

Here is the link to the site I found that has a great introductory video and lots of other free videos. I have also signed up for the newsletter and have printed off the Tapping Points Cheatsheet for easy reference until I was able to remember all the points on my own.

I would love to hear from anyone else how has or is tapping and their experience with it. I would also really love to hook up with anyone else who wants to use this thread as a place to come and talk about it and sort of keep motivated to use it.

I don't know about anyone else but over the years of coping with my symptoms I have developed some negative patterns and while I go through phases of replacing some of those with new positive behaviours I often fall back to what is easy and familiar even if it isn't very healthy for me.

This last week has been a bit of a whirlwind of emotions for me and as easy as it might be for me to fall back to the familiarity of defeat and low expectations of myself I really would rather feed the momentum of confidence and hope that I had a climpse of this week. I am committing to Tapping again to see if it can't help me along the way.

Let me know what you think and if you want to join me to while we explore together its potential as a tool to go beyond coping to overcoming and thriving.

That's awesome! I'm a GAD sufferer too. Thanks for sharing, SS

Wanna become a tapper with me? It put me to sleep last night like nobodies business. Just the affirmation at the start of the seqence has great benefits. "Even though I have this feeling, I deeply and completely accept myself." Amazing how it can settle even the most disturbing feelings.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
