I have this weird paranoia, and I still believe it now, that people can read my thoughts. Its what drove me into depression; somehow my ADHD was aggravated and the racing thoughts and brain chatter got worse, and I was scared that people could read my mind, and imagined them to be giving me weird looks if I thought about them, and I still think it now, its hard for me to accept that people cant read my mind, Im just going even more crazy arent I ?

This can be part of anxiety or depression or bipolar or psychosis. Would be good to share this with a mental health professional and let them know what is going on.

No, people can't read one another's minds. This is a form of paranoia which comes easily to some of us, however, since people can, if they care enough to pay attention, read one another's behaviors/feelings TO SOME EXTENT. This is not to the extent that you are thinking, however. People with whom you have casual contact might be able to tell, for example, that you were feeling "down" or tired, if you were walking slowly, with slumped posture and a sad/weary expression. But they would not know what you were thinking. And they might only guess how you were feeling if they were not so consumed with their own plans and problems to attend to you at all. Remind yourself of this truth, whenever you feel that others are reading your mind: almost all people are too wrapped up in their own concerns to pay close attention to you. Sympathizing ~ billieJ

I used to think this. I once tried to order a smoothie by sending my thoughts to the lady behind the counter, she just got irritated I wasn't saying anything.

This is kind of funny that you figured it out this way =P

No, people cannot read each other's thoughts and thank GOD we cant. There'd be total chaos if we could.
