I had to move out of an house hold for my own safety from my mother and brother. My mother told me to get my stuff and leave and take dog with me cause she didn't want her. Well, she changed her mind once I moved out. She is trying to report me for stealing her dog now. She bought the dog when I was 12 cause I couldn't adopt it. The orginal paper is in her name but all the dog tags, vet visits, ect is in my name. The cops have warned me that I would be arrested if I don't give the dog back, but I know she will just abuse the dog if I give it back. I tryed telling the cops that she would end up hurting the dog but they said they have seen no evidence that she would do that. I don't want to give my dog up for that life, she deseves so much more. I can give it to the dog. It's my husky. The husky we had trained to be a therapy dog for ME! Now I'm losing her, the only thing I have in this world that has never hurt me or betrayed me I don't know what to do... No one listens, no one cares, I'm losing my best friend in the world. I have till 8:30 to deciede.. in less than 3 hours I will be losing my dog forever

I'd say you need some evidence of this to give to the authorities. Do you have anyone who knows about it and could back you up? This might make your story about the dog being in danger more palatable to some authorities.

Seems to me you have no choice hun, if you don't give the dog up then you will be arrested and the dog will be taken to her anyway.

So parting with the dog is not really your choice its just something you have to do....

Oh, LivingMiracle! What a horrible dilemma! Well, it's not much of a dilemma -- people who should care about you have placed you in a situation where you're going to be parted from your friend one way or another.

Is there anyone who can keep you informed of Husky's condition, allowing you to step in at the first sign of abuse?

With great sorrow...but wishing you strength for this trial

Two hours till I drop her off, but honestly I'm still not sure on what to do... I know everything is pointing in her direction and she just wants me to end up in jail, so I don't know what to do...

((LivingMiracle)) This really is a sad and mean thing to do. I hope something happens where you can keep your dog.

So sorry you are experiencing this.

Will your T write you a letter you can give to the authorities stating that this dog is YOUR therapy dog and that it is part of your treatment plan?

Could you or would you be willing to tell your Mom that you go where the dog goes...tell her that if she wants the dog...she has to take you back as well. Maybe this will deter her?

I wish you the best!!

Well, I gave her back. It was one of the hardest things to for me to do, but I know Crystal, the husky, didn't save my life for me to just sit in jail the rest of it. One positive is that she gave me the puppy in my picture because she didn't want it. So we basically traded dogs. I know I can't replace Crystal but I can make better memories with Pebbles.
Thanks for this!

Not knowing your history... May I ask what made you fear for your safety to the point that you moved out to be away from your mother and brother in the first place?

LivingMiracle, did you get Pebbles' paperwork? Anyone else around to verify she said Pebbles was yours?

Its kinda long but I don't want to trigger people so I'll some it up in one word, abuse. When I was 15 the state was pressing charges against them both for abusing me but she got a hold of me and scared me so bad I changed the story cause I didn't want what she said to happen. Now I wish I didn't, its where they belong

I'm so hurt right now, beyond words. I just sit here and cry. My mother is trying to take me to court or arrested because she is saying I abused the dog when I had it. I didn't hurt her, I never would. I love her so much.

My guy said not to worry about it because shes making an assumption and doing anything to get me in trouble and we have a whole house full of people to say I didn't.

Anyway she's hurt now and what did I say? She would hurt the dog, but no one except you guys would listen to me. I knew she would hurt her, I knew it
