I think I have been watching so much tv so I dont have to think about how I am feeling and the reception just went out then... wham!

The terror I am feeling about making my move to the Northwest all alone with two dogs and a cat is overwhelming. I am driving in July - summer heat - across the whole country is scary. I dont have much money and I am going there to try to start all over. I dont know the place, I just have to go because where I am, there are no jobs and absolutely no social life.

Coming back here has always been a "net" for me but after being here and dealing with my mother - no, not a good scene - this place is no longer my home. Sadly, Ill only come back after mom passes away because we dont get along.

I am sooo sacred to the point of being paralysed. I want to crawl in a hole.

Your trip across country sounds very interesting! I know you will have the animals to look out for, but I'll bet the scenery will be so beautiful and relaxing.

Here is a site where you can talk to people based on where they are located: www.city-data.com. You might find out some places that you'll look forward to seeing when you get there and get an idea of what the area is like.

It sounds like the loss of connection to the outside world that was lost when the reception went out triggered some thoughts about some things (familiarity, people, etc) that you will be moving away from.
Thanks for this!

That is a very big move! Do you have family where you will be moving or a support system of friends to help you get by?

No I dont Skully, I am going to a totally new place to meet totally new people and do totally new things. Being a loner, I am good without the family thing there but they are all only a text, call, email or IM away.
