Had a rather un-nerving experience the other day. Wrote something down on a peice of paper, a list of where I wanted to place people on an assignment I was in charge of. When I was done I looked at the completed list again, I realized I had written it down backwards. Everyone was in the wrong place. It just didnt make any sense to me. I called out the assignments anyway, and to my surprise no one complained, so I left it the way it was. I later took out the same list to add a latecomer, only to realize the list was done right after all. I had done it right. So why had I read it before and seen it as being backwards and wrong? It was just so weird. None of my meds for BPD have changed, I havnt been acutely sick, and Im only 44. Ive never had this happen before. Weird, huh? Anyone else ever have this happen?

Wow (((((ruffy)))))--Me thinkest thou doth spend too much time on here!! lol

No, seriously; yes, I've had that happen, it's very upsetting. You feel as if you lost it altogether. I don't know what causes it--extreme anxiety?--a kick back of meds?-
Something at the back of your mind?--it's really unnerving. I know.

How much pressure do you have on you at work? How much accountability falls on you alone?
Are you the Supervisor, or Head nurse?--maybe you need a vacation?

I send you out huggies-----hope you get it worked out-let us know?--theo
Thanks for this!

could it have been like temporary dyslexia
or could it have been an optical illusion.
I have too much fluid in my brain and can get
optical illusions such as the lines on the road bending
or the bottom of a page I'm reading bends in a curve
despite being straight.Or even all the air being filled
with moving objects....all optical illusions I am
assured. Maybe get your eyes checked??
kind thoughts for you.....joey/julia

Were you standing in front of a mirror I think I have had that sort of thing happen, where something that made good sense suddenly does not and you look at it harder and it makes sense again.

I'm glad it worked out for you. Interesting that you thought it was backwards and read it out anyway and/or no one complained/commented.

HaHa ((Theo))and ((Perna)) I may be going crazy, but Im going to go there laughing all the way!!! Thanks for cheering me up. Theo-Yes, I am under extreme pressure at work, and the stress is almost unbearable, even to the point of getting a little chest pain under my left clavicle, at the most stressful parts of the day. Maybe this experience was just the stress coming out sideways. A vacation is on the top of my list. Thanks ((Byz)) for your support...Sooooooo relieved you didnt refer me to an Alzheimers or Early Dementia link, because youre usually right on the money!! ((Julia)) I do have a touch of Dyslexia!!! I didnt think about that. Usually only with two letter words like on or no. Maybe the stress just caused it to flare up to enormous proportions. Im going to look it up tonight and see what I can find. Thanks for reminding me about it. Sorry to hear you have to deal with Hydrocephalus. Our brains are so finicky. Well, I already feel better just being able to talk about the experience, and reading your responses. Thanks you all so much!!!
Thanks for this!

this has happened to me, ruffy.

I will scan a paper of data for full minutes and miss things that are obvious or misread letters, even. One time, someone told me to "hire" them and I read "here" instead of "hire".

((billi)) Thanks for that, at least Im not alone. The whole thing is ringing a bell somewhere in my head but I just cant put my finger on it. I'll start by researching dyslexia, and then maybe it will lead me somewhere. I cant help but think it may be medication related. I also got lost going to church last week, and Ive been going to the same church for 15 years!!! I think I read somewhere that a side effect of Cymbalta, can be confusion. Or perhaps Im just not drinking enough water during the day and getting dehydrated. That can cause confusion, and I dont know, possibly make the med more potent. Nurses will tell you, we dont drink during our shift because we will have to pee, and there is absolutely no time for bodily functions like that!!! I know!!...... TOO MUCH INFORMATION!!
Thanks for this!

Doctor's Order: Catheterize ruffy so she can have her own "Gucci" bag, and get on with her work, well hydrated, electolyte balanced.

Oh, you are soo right! There were times on the job where I wanted to go into the clean Utility room and catheterize myself--especially if I was on Flex, or doing a double---------------------silly (((ruffy)))---theo
