I thought these two recent articles about fish oil helping with mental issues and the diet of our ancestors were great. Thought to post them up. Hope others enjoy them too! I know that fish oil has helped me.

I've heard that fish oils are good for the brain as well as the heart.
Also I find Vitamin D really helps with my depression. When I take 1000 IUD's a day it makes a huge difference. My pdoc backs me up on this that vitamin D is good for your mood. --splitimage |

Yup, I give it to my old dog "Crackers" and I take it too---it is an excellent supplement.
I also find Vitamin D3--1000 units along with alot of B vitamins to help tremendously with sleep and mood. Nowadays, Doctors and Nurse Practitioners will ask what supplements you take and will help you to take the right ones for you. They will take a CBC with Diff, and also levels of Calcium, etc, to make sure you are getting what you need. |

Aw, I agree, vitamin D3 is great! I take it with the fish oil. The two of them have worked wonders at improving my health. I'm taking 6000ius of D3 a day. That keeps me at a testing level between 60 to 70ng/ml.
I've shared this vitamin D3 article with family and friends in the past on how to take D3 correctly. It is written by a cardiologist. Many do not realize that to receive full benefit of D3 - which is a pro-hormone - it is important to figure out a correct dosage. It made a difference for me. Anyway, the article can explain D3 dosage better than I can this evening. It's been a long active day! http://heartscanblog.blogspot.com/20...n-d-right.html |

I know vitamin D is good for mental health, but if I'm not mistaken a long-term study that finished recently found that fish oil had no impact on mental health (just physical health).
Remember that you can overdose vitamin D and all the omega fatty acids. |
