So I went to my psych doctor,to whom which I do not like because she judges me more on my lifestyle rather than help me with my mental health.Anyways so I went to see her on the first of this month and it had been 3 months since I had seen her.I ran out of my sleep medication about over a month ago and I repeatedly called in to let her know and the secretary told me there was nothing she could do for me,so when I finally saw my doc I was hoping she would help me,BUT SHE DIDN'T!!I told I hadn't been sleeping and that I was depressed on the vurge of suicide. She continued my lithium and Gave me wellbutrin which I told her I had been on before in the past and it does not work!! So she gave me that and nothing for sleep!!she told me I need to be patient!that there's nothing she can give me because I've basically taken everything and nothing helps.Oh great so now I feel even more hopeless.I wasn't going to give up so I called her supervisor to report her and the lady told me that I'm lucky to even have a doctor!!Unbelievable, why will no one help me?

I am sorry you feel so neglected by the people who are supposed to help you. Did you ask her for sleeping medication? Have you had problems with previous meds for sleep not working? Maybe she is as frustrated as you are because nothing is working? Why do you feel she judges your lifestyle? I know that lifestyle is a big influence on one's life, especially on one's mental health, maybe she feels you are doing things that are detrimental to your mental health?

Thanks for this!

Hey there hope,

I couldn't imagine being treated that way by a doctor. Depending on your lifestyle, for instance if you are a drug user or polydrug abuser then it would be understandable that your doc & T would give you anything. But they should at least help you with an inpatient course of therapy.

I really do hope that you find a sleep solution soon so that you can get some rest,

Rhia
