"C.R.’s still smarting from being referred to as “people like you,” that is, “those people,” last week."

Okay, the abbreviation/acronym people, those people, really get to me when they don't first tell me what the heck a "C.R." is!

Yesterday C.R. attended a lecture and someone said to her: Oh, I didn’t think people like you would be interested in something like this. (She was in a minority in a variety of ways–age, religion, etc.). The person simply couldn’t get over her attendance at the lecture and in fact said so several times.
