Ok so I'll get straight to the point..
I am terribly afraid of telling my parents and/or my doctor what I feel..
My parents are always there for me, which is wonderful but even though their there they don't listen.. I hurt my eye awhile ago, slightly by accident but also on purpose, I got bleach into my eye and was severely hurt.. I went to the doctors and they gave me medicine and said that if the light irritated it a lot, I would need to wear an eye patch which I ended up using.. But It took three days or so from complaining and crying that I needed one.. My parents dismissed it by saying that I wanted attention.. They ALWAYS say this... So this brings me to my problem..
I have noticed symptoms and I know for sure that I have to get checked out for some things that have been bothering me for a long time now.. But I am scared to tell my parents, thinking they will turn me away and say I'm lying.. I thought about telling my doctor but I am scared she'll be like my parents and just come up with an excuse for the symptoms..
Does anyone have advice to convince, or any advice on how to tell my doctor about my problems..?

Hello combatbaby,

I can't understand why parents do this. My mum did it to me, though my dad never did. Even when I died she said I was faking it lol...YA CAN'T FAKE DEATH...I got a certificate for it somewhere well a copy of it any way...

Your best option is to go to the doctor, explain that your parents always dismiss you and accuse you of lying for attention and so you can't tell them of the symptoms you want investigating.

By approaching it that way you have dealth with both issues and have placed the doctor in the position of knowning all the details and you should be able to get your symptoms checked,

Good luck with this, let us know how you go with it and keep us updated,

Rhiannon

Okay, you have to stop the "but also on purpose". They don't know if they can trust you! Give them reasons to trust you. They listen but they don't know which way to jump if you're coming at them from both and there are more considerations; money, insurance, time, jobs, the doctors, etc. so they have a rough time of it without you making it rougher!

If you have trouble so you do things on purpose; make yourself tell them that too but tell them the whole story so they have all the information!
