I need to. I'm sick of feeling like this. I have gained 100 pounds in 10 years. It's hard on my body. I know if I lost weight, my back would probly not hurt as bad. I am scared of what will happen if I don't lose it. I'll be 40 in ten years. My problem is that I associate being thin as being ill. My husband is thin he has Crohn's. My mom lost alot of weight and she had cancer. My best friend lost alot of weight in one year and he died from AIDS. Not to mention all the skinny people I know that does meth. ANd growing up, I was under-weight so my great grandmother took me to Ponderosa 3-4 times a week and gorged me on steak and taters cause she thought i looked sick cause I was 6 years old and weighed 35 pounds. I guess I was raised with the mentality : Fat baby healthy baby. And then with all this disease I have seen and been around I guess that does'nt help that way of thinking. My sister has lost 40 pounds doing this thing called Cardio diet that her doc prescribed because of her high BP and the family has been saying she's doing meth cause she rides a harley and looks like she's in some kind of bike club (she's not) ANd i don't want them saying that about me. Because, well, i used to do meth all the time. And i don't want anyone thinking that of me. Sorry I was rambling. I'm just a mess right now.

((((((( thunderbear ))))))))) I will tell you what comes to mind when I read your words. What you speak of is very deeply imprinted. The powerfully imprinted fears of your family. And your own exspereinces of people who are thin and ill. Are you in counselling with someone who can help with this? If not, I want to say that you sure do deserve to be. Because what you are talking about is some very real and deep fears. I just want to give you hugs. But I would love to see you work through this deep stuff with someone who can help. Address the deeper issues that you explained so well, so that you can without fear lose the weight. Is that possible? Just gotta give you another hug ((((((((( Thunderbear )))))))))))))

to lose weight, remember this: make fruit the first thing on a meal. for example, an apple. then, soup, always! soup is like a miracle, believe me! the second dish is based on vegetables, rice or spaghetti and try to avoid meat (especially red meat), fried food and salt. drink a lot of water (carefully, though) and don't drink anything but water. you don't need coke nor beer nor any of those. water is the healthiest thing. oh, and of course, never forget about the exercise! if you need any help you can PM me! hugs

How about approaching it as "I want to get healthy" instead of "I want to lose weight"? It sounds like you have a lot going on right now, and dieting can sometimes cause problems. Especially if you approach it wrong and end up yo-yo dieting or buying into fad diets that won't lead to sustained weight loss. Start with little things, like cutting down on soda or eating more fruit and veggies.

All the best-

Change the words. Instead of "losing weight" say "Releasing Weight" 'cos we usually end up finding most things that are lost and you don't want to find this again Which ever diet you choose as long as it is healthy and balanced you can't go wrong.

This is just one I used that worked for me.

First up in the morning until at least noon eat one of two things, either porridge (oats) or just fruit up until your midday meal then go onto a small meal and keep the soup for your evening meal, but make sure it is a wholesome soup with lost of veg in it.

I went from a size 22 to a 6 on this diet and It only took 9 months or so. I'm a vegetarian so I ate no meat, but if you are a 30 yr old mother you will need red meat at least once a week preferably twice because of the loss of iron at your time of month and that will weaken you. Try to take Kelp supplement as it has iodine in it which speeds up the metabolism (unless you have over active thyroid in which case don't take it).

Do drink lots of water about 1250 ml a day if you can, as it flushes the liver and kidneys allowing them to carry more debris out of the body, if possible use filtered water as this is much easier on the internal organs.

It wasn't a crash diet I lost the weight slowly and steadily while exercising by walking carrying weights, adding rocks to my pockets as I got fitter to make me carry more weight to make the workout more intensive without overloading my heart.

You can do this thunderbear, I have complete faith in your ability to set your mind to it. Good luck!
