not sure but I think that came from a tv show called law and order where the rapist was intentionally passing on AIDS. I personally have never heard of it happening in real life. certain std's like AIDs has to be reported to the health department and then they make contact with the person diagnosed with it and also thier partners so they get tested and treated.

That did happen in NYC, for real, it had been in the news years ago, I have heard on the radio or read in newspapers, that there have been several cases, where someone who had been either angry/jealous with a partner intentionally spread HIV to them. There was a case, several years ago, again from NYC, where a woman who was a prostitute was purposly spreading it, and never reported how many people she had sexual relations with, she even said she would continute doing this when questioned by authorities. Then there was some man I think from Haiti, they caught near the same time, he too said he will continue to spread it, and that no one is going to stop him, I never heard the final update on that case. So very sad. After knowing and seeing someone I knew die from AIDs, it is a horrible, slow (till the end)fatal disease, the victim literally wastes away to a near skeleton form before dieing.
A person who intentionally spreads their fatal disease, knowing the outcome, in my eyes is the same as a murderer
and should be treated as one. After all this is a fatal disease, most stricken do not survive in the long run.
Just my 2 cents.
