I think that it was put together very quickly. I am sure there will be more, and on a larger scale.

I was glad at the end that they did, "When The Saints Go Marching In."

I'm gonna get that too, When the Saints, it has a rousing jubilant feel to it amidst all the suffering. Good reminder.

Faith Hill sang two gospel songs that were absolutely beautiful. One of the songs, I grew up with and can play on the piano. So, I sang along and cried. I'm sure they will have more fundraisers.

I certainly hope that the Red Cross doesn't divert any of this money, as they did when 9/11 occurred. They used the majority of the donations for their own expenses. Matt Lauer asked the director if she could promise that all of these donations would go to the victims and she promised that.

Thanks for reminder Jan and all. New Orleans

I realized that I am cycling through the stages of grieving. Right now, I am furious. So angry, so enraged. With heavy sadness laced throughout.

Way up here in western Washington in our own humble apartment complex, we are definitely thinking on emergencies, plans underway to meet for emergency planning. Here we'd be most likely hit by earthquakes, possibly also Mt. Rainier blowing.

Our hearts and thoughts are with the folks and animals, the trees affected by Hurricane Katrina. May the $ and people power flow easily and abundantly for aid.

Yea my heart breaks everytime I think about New Orleans. If they rebuild the city and all its folklore will never be the same. I have watched Haunted Cities and its been on there can you imagine all the spirits that will be there now?

I am sorry for what is going on in Louisiana, but I do not know how to help, sorry. I am happy that the people have been evacuated from the worst places now. Cheers.

the victims that have been r e-located need toys for the children. if you are near a center that has taken people in, that would be neat thing to do. i went to a dollar store and bought two sacks full of dolls, little cars and puppets.

that is what i told my husband. the stores that have over stock can send things to these people. i wonder if anything in canada may have something that we can give and they send to those people who need everything. it would be nice.

Hi.

I am very concerned about the future of that area. Near & far!

Every day New Orleans sinks a little deeper under the sea level. Day by day. Week by week...etc. There is NO way to stop this process.

Many people are facing reality and moving elsewhere, I've noticed.

My prayers and thoughts are with them.

Hi.

You see N.O. is shaped like a giant bowl that IS REALLY sinking. There is no way to stop that. I lived there for almost 2 years and it is very rich in culture...however rebuild upon a sinking foundation? Would you buy a House that was gradually sinking? Not me.

Nothing lives forever. Life happens. Mother Nature happens. We've gotta face reality here....nostalgia aside.

Look at the ruins of Pompei. Thousands died. Countless civilizations have suffered great losses. In each catastrophe...those that were still living..picked up and moved away.

my memories of New Orleans are a part of the rich tapestry that is my life. i only hope for the best for the city and the people who want to live there. i'll hang on to my nostalgia.

when the city is ready, i intend to go there and sit on the floor, again, at Preservation Hall and pick up more memories. New Orleans has enriched my life and i'm sure there's more to come.
