I am so sad right now that I don't know what to do with myself. A close family friend who seems like family himself is very sick. He went into the Emergency Room last Monday because he felt sick with vomiting and everything. Well, Wednesday a doctor from the hospital called him and told him to be in his office ASAP. So, he went and the doctor told him that he has cancer. At first they thought it was lung cancer, and that it hadn't spread anywhere else. But with more tests it was shown to have spread everywhere.... lymph (sp?) glands, organs, EVERYWHERE. The docs said that it will be in his brain within 3 weeks. And they also told him that he has only 8 weeks left to live. I am terribly upset and so is the rest of my family. This man has known me since I was 2 years old. He's like family to me. He lives next door to my parents. This is just a sad sad day for me. Please keep our friend ( and me and my family) in your thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry. I went through the same thing last year when my mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She went to the ER because she thought she had gallstones. Instead, she found out she had adrenal cancer. They sent her to the best treatment center in New York to have it taken care of...they didn't do a darn thing for her. They told her she had 2 years to live, but she lived 2 weeks. Though your friend may have better luck than my mother did, it is a horrible place to be.

I was there the end of last year with my Mother....only she wasn't told anything about her cancer other than the surgeon swore he "got it all". Once she was in the nursing home....I found out the cancer was in her lungs....& I could have sworn it had spread to her brain by the end of November. I know how hard it was not to know the truth, don't know which is worse....knowing the truth of guessing.

My prayers are with you, knowing exactly how it feels. It takes alot out of you & exaustion is very easy to set in so take care of yourself too.
