I have seem members from forums post in surviver of abuse forums...and in PTSD forums - about PTSD as a result of abuse.

I used to think that PTSD is when you see something so awful that you forget. Repress.
Abuse is...abuse. Something that was DONE TO YOU

Now really if i have this...like:
Was abused and repressed...so it is BOTH?

PTSD My first experience was when I had an EMR therapy session and was taken back to the moments the abuse happened. I began to choke and writhe in agony. I was actually back there in the moment and I couldn't breathe or wriggle free I was only 3 years old. I vomited.

The second was when I was in hospital for repair surgery on my bowel and had to have a ileostomy done the damage was so bad they had to cut a large part of my bowel away. When I saw the the piece of bowel that had been drawn out through my belly for the ileostomy I went into meltdown. It looked like the flaccid uncircumsised penis after it had attacked me. I tried to crawl up the wall backwards, I was screaming and crying.

PTSD can happen at any time there are no rules with it, whatever triggers you can cause an episode to occur. After I went through therapy The people who said they represented the girl at each time she was attacked came out and started talking to other people. This eventuated in a diagnosis of DID. And even talking about certain things or being in a certain situation will cause one of them to come forward. Mostly Morgana because she is the strongest and will not let anyone hurt me or the others.

It really can be very complex and complicated, whereas at other times it is so very simple. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is just that. Going into stress after the event and feeling the stress of the moment that caused the problem.

I don't post in the suvivor forums because that indicates to me that I am just a survivor, not a person, not a strong soul who is still living. I may not have a perfect life but I am not a survivor I am a winner.

Abuse can cause post traumatic stress, the abuse would be the trauma:
