I hug my pooh bear.

When I am in the arms of my hubby

When my mind is quiet

When I am at home

When I paint

When I sit on my deck

I feel safe when

Hi, Jen!
Yes, it's good to feel safe!
I am just beginning to return to my safe zone, after putting myself in an anxious postion. It has taken me many months to recover, and while I was in it, I kept thinking...."Shouldn't I feel safe?!" instead of anxious and insecure? At the time, I even berated myself for wanting and needing to feel "safe!"

I feel safe when:
I'm with my loving pets..
I'm creating my art...
I'm with my twin grandsons...
I'm in a peaceful, contemplative state of mind.
Loving thoughts,

Great thread, Jen!

Now... let me see...

I feel safe:
when I'm in my back yard amongst the plants
the odd moments when my youngest son hugs me tight
when I'm listening to "Music for the Inner Child" and I'm wrapped up tight in my comforter
when my gaze wanders to a painting an online friend sent me of Jesus in the clouds hugging someone
when I remember my favorite goat chasing my ex back down the hill
when I remember my Doberman getting on the couch with me and almost wrapping a leg around me (she knew I was down)

I feel safe when:

My husband holds me tight
My kids tell me that they love me
My kids are talking to each other and laughing, but don't know I am listening.
my little dog named Houston curls up in my lap.
my kids snuggle up to me on the couch
my husband tells me that he is proud of me and that he understands
my husband says he loves me, everything about me, even that 9 year old little gril inside of me!!!!

I Love this you guys. I am so happy you have shared what makes YOU feel safe with me.

I am having a hard time today. I am trying to calm my mind with the tools that I learned from my T and here. I am feeling a little better but I am still afraid. Thanks for your replies.

Jmo,

What an excellent thread topic.

I feel safe -

When I am posting PC on my laptop.
When I'm walking around the shops on my own, having time to myself.
When I'm comforting my wife if she feels down.
When my daughter phones (that's a big one).
When I'm not anxious - which is quite often these days.
When the phone rings and I let it click onto ansaphone.
When I remind myself that I'm a survivor.
When I'm reading my poetry to a live audience.

Thanks for the subject Jen,

I feel safe when I feel safe when I feel safe when I feel safe when I feel safe when

OK I finally found the graphics tool - Doh.

Cheers, M

Your welcome Myzen. I am glad you liked it. I needed to list my safe places in case I had another panic attack and I had forgotten them. I hate these attacks. I just am beside myself.

Butterflylady, thank you. Our mutual friend will be ok. I just know it I feel safe when

I feel safe when.....

I'm laying in the couch and I have my blankie wrapped around me

I'm shopping with my mom and she buys me something without me having to ask

I'm posting about what is bugging me

I'm eating chubby hubby icecream

I'm in my therapists office and he seems to get what I'm saying

Thanks for the thread I like it.

Wow. I've tried and tried, but I can't think of any time I feel safe. Emmy is pretty much always at least a little scared...even with my teddy.

if anyone of you all know when a cat lays on its back and sleeps with paws in the air means they are totally content with things .. of course why it makes me feel good is when i put my hand down on a soft silky furry belly and then they wrap their paws around me and the motor runs (purring) while i rub the tummy and under the neck and all .. this lets me know they are very happy and it makes me feel very happy.

That is a beautiful thought. I feel the same way about my puppy Gracie. When I hold her close like a baby and she nestles in the corner of my arm and I know she is feeling content and safe. This makes me happy too.

I am going to revive this post because it means alot to me, very special.

I feel safe when:

I am with my family

Holding my puppy

Curled up in bed

Sitting on the back porch feeling the sun on my face sipping a cup of coffee in the morning

People can identify with me, my feelings, thoughts and offer support here at PC

Thanks I feel safe when

Hugs,

Jen

Hmmm... my list hasn't changed any except that I can add one more after this last weekend. My granddaughter spent the long weekend with me and insisted on sleeping with me... still! I feel safe when My right shoulder was her pillow and my arm was her security blanket. She wrapped her little arms around it tight and slept that way all night. At the time she did that and during the night if she moved, I could feel an overwhelming sense of rightness and security. I'm thinking she did, too. I feel safe when

Ya know, I used to feel safe with my dad, but recently his pulling away from me has made that disappear. Now I don't have anyone I feel safe with....
