Today I am thankful for:

My day off giving me the ability to clean my nasty apartment.

My good job that gives me days off.

The good sleep I got last night.

My mp3's.

My cat.

My motivation to clean my apartment.

These forums, which give me a really good excuse to take breaks from cleaning my apartment. =)

My life, my sobriety, my happiness.

(I started this thread because I know when I make a gratitude list, it takes my mind away from anything I might not have at the moment, and makes me feel happy.)

I'm thankful for, PC, my parents and their computer, being able to go to school, understanding instructors that get it when you are sick and can't go to school, getting a good grade on my math test, having food, and a bunch of other things I can't think of right off the top of my head.

that a close gf had attentive doctors who ordered tests despite her young age and found a polyp which was removed in a laparoscopic surgery. pathology showed it would have turned cancerous most likely undetected since screening for this particular cancer isn't done until well into the 40's.

thankful she lives near major medical center, thankful her doctors listened and ordered more tests, thankful she didn't chicken out since the medical tests were not comfortable tests to take, thankful the surgery was trouble free, thankful her recovery is going well, thankful she is alive.

I am thankful for living long enough to understand what had happened to me, to recognise my defensive patterns and to gradually put them to one side.

Cheers, M What are you thankful for today?

Today I am thankful for being able to read wonderful quotes like the above, and understand.

That.......

I am not dealing with storms, floods, or fires.

Coffee and food.

This sunlight in my apartment through lace curtains.

Bird song.

Today I am thankful that I have a really good book to read, very much enjoying it, The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova.

Thankful that the painters are almost done tromping through my apartment.

And I am thankful that simple silly things like What are you thankful for today? this make me smile. (I think Paxil is working for me, whooooooo hoooooo!)

Today I am thankful for

Running water.
Having a bolt hole in the greatest city on earth.
Those wet wipes for cleaning the floor - wasteful but wonderful.
Having a washing machine.

Today I am thankful for:

$$

Wonderful breakfast out with my son, good coffee and blackberry pancakes

The ability to pay bills

Water

Safety, security, and my coping skills

Knowing (eventually) what I need to do when I feel bad

A joke passed on to me, made me smile

My rather spartan bed, mattress on floor, but so comfy and secure when it is time to rest and slumber

Hope folks join in, want to keep this thread or one like it going, helps a lot during difficult times to notice something you are thankful for.

Right now, thankful for these very yummy organic white corn tortilla chips and black beans.
