i have been up since 7 with pyscho cat paige running, attacking my feet, screaming in amy ear, teasing the bird, destroying my room, and just being psycho. I swear that cat has adhd, if its not one thing its another. She is a bundle of terror. Do all siamese cats do this? man my other siamese cat shaddow lived under the bed for 5 years practically. Due to a nervous disorder. Also my cat paiges adult k9s are growing in right next to her baby k9's. Her baby k9 are not loose at all. Is this normal? Crud i got to wrap this up. paige is terrorizing pete the bird again.

yes..there are cat tranks...& anti-depressants as well. I would call my vet and make an inquiry. Gads...you can't have this happening. You'll wind up a wreck.( And yer house)!

I've always been a lurker here, but I just had to reply to this one! I've had two Siamese cats as well and they are really something else, aren't they? My first Siamese cat was actually put on kitty Valium. This was around 1990, so I'm not sure if this is still done or what not, but you can always check with your vet. My cat had fallen high off a shelf which then crashed on him and broke his leg... he had to wear a cast for 6 weeks! At any rate, the Valium seemed to calm him down alot. The Siamese I have now was just as bad... luckily when I added another kitty into the house, it helped tremendously. My Russian Blue is bigger, faster and heavier than my Siamese, so she's calmed down considerably... she's probably afraid she's going to get her little cat butt kicked, lol. I know that's not an option for everyone, though. It sounds like your cat is still a kitten or young (she still has baby teeth?) so there's always the possibility she'll grow out of her spazziness... at least a little. Good luck, sounds like there's never a dull moment!

Welcome to psychcentral rob!

My dog (labrador) gets 25mg of benydryl when we get into a bad hurricane, to help calm him... so there are ways to help the pets... call the Vet and ask for something simple, or even herbal... good wishes.

OH BD, I feel for you, I so understand what you are talking about. Buddy is an oriental shorthair ( cousin to the siamese ). Just this past monday he ATE, yes ate my checkbook. Buddy talks all the time. Loves to run up to you and grab your feet. The other poor cats in the house are terrorized by him. Buddy is now 2 years old and has calmed down a great deal. I get sleep now. He used to have a habbit of jumping from the top of our TV stand onto our waterbed over and over again. What helped us out was to put him in Buddy jail as we called it. We would put him in a crate for 30 mins or so just until he calmed down some. My H actually thought Buddy had brain damage of some kind because he just goes crazy and runs around like a wild child. Buddy has slowed down a little with age and getting out of the kitten stage. As for the k9s and all. Buddy had 2 sets of teeth at one point until his baby teeth fell out on their own. Was weird to see, but normal. I also has a nervous cat who licks herself bald. But ya got to Love them.

does this cat get "alone time" with you. where you hold him and stroke and talk to him? sometimes, just like children, a cat will act out if they aren't getting what they consider enough petting and attention. i had one that had to have extra "lap" time. and then he grew out of his wildness.

Since Siamese are known to be quite vocal and demanding, I'm thinking that tranquilizing her wouldn't be such a good idea. It's just a trait of the breed. is there a cat tranquilizer?

There is a very good cat tranq available here, called Clomicalm, bound to be available where you are as Australia last to get everything.
Very effective, but like with ppl, you need to work out what is causing it, otherwise cat be on tranqs whole life, like us is there a cat tranquilizer?
Not really matter if cat on tranqs. PM any time, me cat breeder, former dog breeder, lots of experience. Unfortunately what you describe is quite common in Siamese. If you PM me i can put you in touch with lots of Siamese breeders who may be able to help. i/we breed abyssinian cats, member of Governing Council here, much vet help available. is there a cat tranquilizer? is there a cat tranquilizer?
