Just A Thought

Let's all wake up tomorrow, and consciously decide to have a great day. As silly as it sounds it is really a mind set. Don't let the thoughts of the ensuing day over take you. Every thought that starts to take you out of the present moment needs to be squashed. Spend your whole day refocusing your thoughts to the task in front of you. Look around and enjoy the people and things that are in your life today. Write down 10 things that you are grateful for and carry it with you. When there is a point in the day when you can't hold on to your positive attitude, pull it out and refocus. Life is really a mindset and we need to put the effort in to change it. Like everything else each day that we put the effort into changing our attitude, our ability to be happy will grow.

Excellent idea. I already do this on a daily basis and it does work. I have a lot more "good" days than "bad" days. You just have to make up your mind and force yourself to do it in the beginning but stick with it, it works!

Yes, of course good advice. I have given that to others before, when I was in a better state of mind, but now I need to listen.

Just as negativity feeds negative thoughts, the opposite is also true and the key is breaking the cycle- getting over that first hump.

For me- one of the very best things I have ever done is to force myself out into the air for a long walk. If I can do that- then I always feel better afterwards, or at least never any worse. And it has the power to completely change my day.

I am just finishing up a week of intense family grief over a suicide. My goal today is a long hot shower and a walk. If I can do that, then the day will automatically be better than yesterday.

I think small steps help people from failing their high expectations.
