Due to our financial situation, my husband wants me to get a job. The mere thought of going back to work makes me panic. The last few times I tried to work I had to quit because I became severely depressed. My husband doesn't understand that I just can't do it. Plus, we have two kids, I wouldn't make enough money to make it worth it, most of it would go to childcare. I don't qualify for disability because I haven't worked enough in this country.
I'm a certified Vet Tech, and I used to love my job, but now I don't think I could handle the horrible things you see every day. I'm not stable enough.

I feel awful, like I'm just too lazy to work.

I don't understand why you don't qualify for disability. I know people who have never worked a day in their life and they collect disability. As soon as they turned 18 they began the application process. Maybe it is different for imigrants? Are you in the US?

Could you work in a child care facility, and get a discount on child care?

Yes, I'm in the US. Maybe I should look into it again. Last time I did it told me I didn't qualify. Hm.

I highly doubt they'd take me, with my history. I know they can't ask me that stuff, but my left arm is covered in scars, and my wrist too. I wouldn't be able to hide that. But thanks for the suggestion anyway.

I get SSI and so does my child. She had it much longer. I too feel guilty for not working. If I had a job I would of loss it. I am in school but only taking two classes at a time. I have accommendations at school. I've had to withdraw from classes many times in the pass 2 years. Some days it tough to get out of bed. It's difficult for me to concentrate. I have therapy, group, and dr. appts. I also have someone who makes home visits. I am trying to manage day by day. It's a full time job taking care of my child with everything else going on. I have help with her too. She's disabled as well.
