If a police check for security is required (same as if you were buying a gun) it shows up but I think what job you're applying for and what sort of background check they do; I mean the company could pay somebody to do a thorough background check just because that's what that company does and that would include security and it would check that too, yes. I think it would depend on the company/job and their practices so no way of telling. I've only had one job that had a "real" background check and that was for the Government at the Pentagon, so. . .

Hello, Skully. Pennsylvania has statute dealing with confidentiality of records. Most allow only limited disclosure. See here:
http://www.pacode.com/secure/data/05.../s5100.32.html http://www.pacode.com/secure/data/05...ap5100toc.html If you would like a definitive answer, my suggestion is to call the Pennsylvania State Bar Association (Look in the yellow pages under attorneys) and ask to be referred to a lawyer who is familiar with Pennsylvania's mental health procedures for a free consultation. |

Hi Skully,
I work in Human Resources - generally companies are not looking for things like that - background checks are done to check criminal history, employment history and sometimes financial history (like if you've declared bankruptcy). In all cases, you will have to sign a release in order for your background to be checked. the only time I think any kind of commitment would come into concern is if you were trying to get some kind of security clearance. Hope that helps! |
