((((((((Everyone)))))))) Thanks so much. The vet says there's nothing they can do but put him down. My new dog... :( He's so sweet. And they say that I can bring him home and let him die here, but he's in so much pain. I think I am going to let them just put him down. My poor doggie. This is the one I just adopted from the humane society. My big Great Pyranees mix. My new dog... :( My new dog... :( My new dog... :(

it is of little to no comfort to know that sometimes animals enter our lives for a much shorter period than we would have liked but that was their path.

your sweet doggie received lots of love and good care in the short time spent with your family. we believe animals choose us when the shelter is involved. sure we go in thinking we're making the choice but over the years and many animals later we've seen that there is a two way connection between human and animal. your sweet boy saw your love and knew he needed to be with you.

he will pass on knowing he was loved.

life isn't fair especially when our most innocent ones are taken too soon.

take time to grieve this one.

your heart is so full of compassion, kindness and love for animals that we're sure when the time is right you'll be ready to welcome another one in.

until then our heart goes out to you for this painfully sad time. releasing our animals from pain when there isn't any treatment available is the most humane thing a person can do.

aw I'm so sorry My new dog... :( I don't remember how you got this one.... if it's from a kennel or store, you need to let them know and get a newer one. How sad... there's only one thing that fills the sadness of a loss of a pet... another pet! My new dog... :(

I am so sorry for your loss. I know it's too soon and I don't know what your finances are but maybe you need to let the shelter know? You should be able to adopt freely next time. It really stinks though and I am glad he had a momma to make decisions for him.

Thanks so much everyone. I got him from the humane society. They said I could come back and get another dog. I might. I'm not sure right now though. I took him (Rusty) back to the emergency vet.. the one that's open 24 hours a day. The vet put him down at 7:00 this morning. I couldn't stay for it... I really just couldn't do it. So I came home. He's not hurting anymore though. And I am thankful for that. Thanks again everyone.

I know how hard this is.

But I also feel such wonder in my heart that you were able to do this, this loving animal was able to spend its last days in a comfortable home with a loving family rather than in a cage in the kennel.

justaman, I didn't really buy him. I paid an adoption fee at the humane society. He was a Great Pyranees and Golden Retriever mix. He was a good dog. So sweet and gentle. I miss him, but I know he's better off. So that at least makes me feel better.
