How cool! Neat to see all those balloons. Wierd how so far there's no one really in the middle of the country?

Well, I joined the crowd. It is great to see so many people on the map.

No you didn't... it's still there. Zoom in on the state of MT and you'll see both pins more clearly!

It's already available -- you just need to use the Zoom Out feature in the upper left corner of the screen. Try it again - many of your compatriots are already there! Google just defaults to the US view (actually, to Kansas but I zoomed it out). I can make it a world view, but on other boards that I've set this up for, I got too many questions about how to zoom IN, so I figured it's easier to just deal with the few non-North Americans who haven't discovered the Zoom feature.

Frapper! sure has changed since the end of October when you first began the PC map on Frapper!

the new legend to the map breaks down members by dx.(member choice now when joining map to select map icon that best fits the dx they wish to share with the public) the categories provided are far too limited and are not logical in their grouping. we'd rather not be a part of something that maintains stigma and misinformation about mental illness. (the categories make no sense especially when added so long after most ppl joined the map...who is going to go back and change their "pin" to the new colour coded dx tag?)

PsychCentral (the main site not the support forums) has been a trusted source of factual information about mental illness online for many years now. it would be sad to see the name of PsychCentral attached to outdated ideas of dx groupings. why not ICD-9-CM or DSM IV dx groupings?

we didn't join recently so we don't have bells or whistles or even any log in for the map. we've contacted admin person for map but thought others might like to know how the map has changed and continues to change....

Sorry - I added the pins a while back, to roughly match the categories of the forums here. We only have 5 options, so I grouped as best possible. If nobody finds them useful or if most are irritated by them, I can certainly change it back to a single, generic pin. One always has the option of choosing the generic option to not "label" themselves. Nobody's d(x) was applied to them unless they did it themselves.

Dang, that stinks having names listed on a map with mental disorders...... So glad I did not put my name on the map... Sure would not want my nic plastered all over the net with a mental health issue... Besides mental health issues are private... To tell who we want to tell... not be put on a map with statistics....... smacks me head with soft pillow and yells.......

your nic is not plastered all over the net any more than it is here. It is a private map that is not included in any search engines. Try it yourselves -- google "Frappr" "Psychcentral" or "Frappr" "your nic/screenname" -- it does not appear.

I was trying to do something nice for people. I did not realize it would cause panic and anger. I haven't received any PMs or emails about this and am saddened to hear public criticism and complaints here.

I'll remove the pins.
