Hello,

I'm new here and need some advice, opinions, etc.

Question is....patholigical lying, compulsive liar, pseudologia fantistica, mythomania, etc.

Are these (above mentioned) 'disorders' a classification in the DSM? Are they considered a personality disorder, sypmtoms of PTSD? malinger?

Can't quite figure this one out. I understand that this may a well debated subject so all responses are welcomed!
thanks

I don't have any answers for you, but I have suggestions....

Try doing a google search for each one and add DSM in the search criteria; if it is in the DSM you may get a hit that gives the DSM description and criteria. Also, check your local library and you may find some good info there. Other than that, my only suggestion would be to contact a licensed mental health professional and discuss it.

I hope you find what you're looking for.

um...you can read all the labeled disorders in the DSM at
http://allpsych.com/disorders/dsm.html

I don't know that these are disorders as much as they're symptoms.
