I just went to put some eye medicine on Hammie and he didn't struggle at all. He usually struggles.

I don't know how to handle this. Hammie is not even dead yet and I'm crying my eyes out.
I want Hammie to live, but I don't want Hammie to suffer if he is suffering. I don't know how I'm going to concentrate in school. I don't know how to explain to others why I'm crying. People will think it is silly to cry for a hamster.

It is not silly to cry for a hamster. It is a loss. Most people who have pets understand this.
Give yourself a chance to come through this. Crying is good... whatever you are feeling. I'm so sorry about the news, and I am glad you are able to express your feelings here, so we can all be with you to help you cope.

I am sorry about Hammie..I have lost a lot of pets and even humans..I have done the tears and sleepless nights while they were still alive..It is very scary and sad. Just tell anyone who MAY see your cry at school that your PET is ill and leave it at that ..most people will be kind

Hammie seems to be a little better today. Last night he didn't move much, but this morning I saw that he rearranged his bedding. This is what he usually likes to do.
I already took Hammie to the vet. He probably has a tumor on his adrenal glands. There is nothing we can do. Hamsters like 2-3 years and there is nothing we can do.

i am soo sorry about the grim diagnosis. the thing most pet owners hate to see is there little friends suffer. Specially if we know whats going on and they dont. I find it helps to talk to ur hammie about whats going on. I had to watch many of my friends die and they all seem to understand. the thing that u can do is make hammie comfortable and be there for him/her. Who knows maybe the tumor on hammies adrenal gland is benigned. meaning non cancerous. Hammie and you are in my thoughts.

 Poor Hammie. I'm sorry, Greenleaves. I really do understand. I would be devastated if my cats were that sick.
