Whooo Boy, local news last night was a jaw dropper.
Big storm. Power out. Phone out. Candles for light. Wife goes let the dogs out before sleep. Wife downstairs doing the dogs, husband sound asleep upstairs. Window cracked, curtain blew, candle caught it on fire, husband rolled over into flames. Woke up with himself and his world on fire. Got out naked into the storm, Cell phones no reception. Wife, dogs and man, all naked, in car watching house burn to the ground. Just like that. Literally NOTHING left, not even a shirt on their backs.

Wow....earlier this week there was a story here about a family that two of their children were killed in a fire that was started by the 3 year old playing with a lighter. Just makes you think that this could happen so quickly.

Hi Sleeps, Is your candle away from all burnables? all pets that could knock it over? Isolated like in a big bowl or sink or something so if it's base breaks (I had one crack right down the middle when the candle got way down there and heated the holder...) the whole thing is still contained?

I'm glad I have other choices now. I have a backup collection of LED bulb, battery operated, decorative lights just in case. The batteries last quite a while, the LEDs use very little power. And now they've come out with solar powered LED flashlights and walkway lights: do you have much sun? The bulbs never burn out either. Be safe ok?

My wife's friend burned her dorm room to a crisp when she left a candle burning. She was only away from the room for an hour. I think they cause a lot of trouble because they seem so harmless.

Hey ya Bunny...no I have it like in a ceramic deal with a hole in it..where you put the candle amd the top has like a bowl in ceramic that you put aromatherapy and water in and it cooks it all night...or close till the candle burns out...Its on a table with nothing but a close and metal light on it...I dont think my cats would jump on the table they never have....its been maybe 2 years I have been doing this...in hopes of sleep without meds
