Could you put them all in a box and give them to someone you know? That way they are not upsetting you and are out of sight. But they will be there later on in case you happen to want them back.

I destroyed all my old pics that had the sperm donor in them. Cut them to pieces.....even my favorite pic of him and I together actually having a supposed "Father/Daughter" moment.
I found it quite therapeutic. Cutting that Bass Terd out of my life!! Every once in a while, I wish I didn't cut that one pic up. But it's usually times when I'm small and wishing my Daddy would stop being such a sociopath and realize that he's loving me wrong. Do what you have to do. Just understand that you can't get those photo memories back and that even though you're okay with it at the moment, next year...or five years down the road you might miss them. If you can live with the potential pain of regret, then have fun and get to destroying. I hope it gives you what you need!! ![]()

Photos you've taken or photos of your life? I like the idea of having someone else hang onto them for you, just in case you change your mind.

I don't have any experience with cutting up old photos, but I surely know what the pain is like of wanting to do anything - ANYTHING - to make some of my past GO AWAY. As of a couple months ago there are NO photos of my parents visible in my home. I had it with the feelings I got when I walked past them... I mean I'd be sitting there watching TV at nite and "those people" would be looking across the room at me. NO MORE!! So they're packed away. Didn't erase the memories of the past, but at least I took a step to be more COMFORTABLE in my own home. Just be careful you don't do something you can't come back from.
Take care of yourself! Lavalamp

I have done that with some old photos myself, and I've regretted that decision. I especially regret things I've written on those photos. That cannot be erased. My pain and self-hate is quite apparent to even a stranger's eyes. I should have put those photos away ~ in a box down a hallway or something. But I didn't. Even in the moment of ripping them apart and writing cruel words didn't make me feel any better. Not at all ![]() Let those photos go away for a while. Put them in a box somewhere, so you don't have reminders everywhere your eye wanders. Hope that helps you. ![]()

When you become famous, your biographers will highly regret that you destroyed those pictures, since they are essential to fully understanding your history...
