Yesterday was my birthday. I ended up spending it alone because my now ex decided that he would rather go out drinking with his friends. By the time he cancelled it was too late to make other plans.

Oh, I'm so sorry! I was watching "Family Feud" the other day on TV and one of the questions was what holiday was the worst to be alone on and "Birthday" was the #1 answer!

I am sorry your birthday turned out the way it did. I have had some horrible birthdays and I know how it feels.

I remember once when I was younger, no one came to my birthday party. I was crushed.. I am so sorry. Maybe you can take a day to pamper yourself. It is always nice to have company on a special day, but it is also great to have time for you to focus on you

Happy belated birthday! I wish I should have seen this post earlier but I also sympathized with you about being lonely on your birthday. It's the worst feeling in the world. It's amazing how someone like you can deal with this kind of situation. You have a strong character.
