i got up this morning, went to the post office when i came back sad sack was dead, he was fine when i left, he had lost a bit of weight over the last couple of days due to the runs but seemed to be getting better. i am taking him up over the welsh hills in the morning to bury him in the quarry

Mellors I am so sorry. I know how important Sad Sack was to you, and how horrible the loss of a pet in general can be.

i buried sad sack this morning in the coed y brenin forest (forest of kings) at the cottage i go to every year penros isaf (rose cottage) he will like it there. it is 7 miles from the nearest town or village, 2 miles from the nearest road, and in a very isolated location, you could walk right past it and not know it is even there.

Mellors,
It sounds like Sad Sack will have much fun romping around with no one to get in his way, in what sounds like to be such beautiful surroundings. Know in your heart he is in a better place, even though his loss hurts very much right now. And like Dublin said, allow yourself to cry. It's the best way to cleanse the soul. I am so very, very sorry about your beloved pet, Mellors! My pets are my family so I understand the heartache of losing one. In fact, I lost a precious one the end of September and my heart still hurts.
