it was usually suggested by my T to make a lot of my decisions based on my intuitiveness. in some serious decisions i have also weighed out the pros and cons. this occurs when i feel conflicted on what is the best decision for me to make. found this article interesting based on the findings thru research.

Complex Decision? Don't Think About It

ScienceDaily (Dec. 10, 2008) — When faced with a difficult decision, we try to come up with the best choice by carefully considering all of the options, maybe even resorting to lists and lots of sleepless nights. So it may be surprising that recent studies have suggested that the best way to deal with complex decisions is to not think about them at all—that unconscious thought will help us make the best choices.
Although this may seem like an appealing strategy, new research in Psychological Science, a journal of the Association for Psychological Science, cautions that there are limitations in the efficacy of ....http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases...1209154941.htm

One problem I sometimes have is getting into the black/white of making decisions where you think whatever the decision one makes locks one in and has to be "the" right decision until the end of time. I think planning and decision making is like driving; you have to get rolling along and as you come to turns, then you decide to make them or not, etc. But planning out one's day and expecting it to go exactly as planned. . . that ain't usually going to happen :-) Same, for me, with big/complex decisions.

My DH and I decided to go to England the end of September so I'm moving in that direction. It could all go wrong, I could lose lots of money (I've already paid for the Tour I'm going for and the plane tickets, some additional days hotel reservations, etc.) or any number of things but those "problems" haven't come up yet so don't need to be solved now. Right now, I need to just take the "next" step I see. And that's not too hard, even for me
