The Hubby is 2000 graduate of Virginia Tech's mining and minerals engineering program. He is also a native West Virginian.
In his hometown, there are trapped miners. Please pray for their safety and the continued safety of my father-in-law/his father, a DEP inspector, who is also on site (helping out).

Thanks everyone. They don't know if this is a rescue or a recovery at this point, but we're hoping for the best.
It's very surreal. I've visited the site with the hubby and his dad a little over a year ago. This site isn't far from the one where The Hubby worked when he was in school. We just have to have faith in the knowledge of the people involved. If those guys are alive (and even if they're not) they will get them out. Thanks again for the good thoughts.

Thanks so much everyone.
 Hubby is trying to keep himself busy so he doesn't become obsessed with watching the news. He wants to go help. Feeling very helpless here since this community is my second home and the hubby's hometown. I heard on the news they are now going to try to go in. Hoping they find things better than anyone is hoping for. It is also sad as the hubby has a classmate that works for the company, currently. I hope things turn out well. Expect the worst - hope for the best, I guess.

Yes, will do. It reminds me of the other cave in with the // 13? miners some years ago... and the rescue. I'm sure if they have some evidence that makes it a rescue, miners from around the country will go and help, again. It's unbelievable how these ppl do this "thankless" job for us all.

I believe you are talking about Quecreek, Sky. The Hubby helped with that rescue (indirectly) as did many of his professors, classmates, and colleagues. We're hoping this turns out as "well" as Quecreek.
However, Quecreek was a flood. This is an explosion...much worse situation. The news says rescuers have finally been able to enter the mine. Please let them be successful and safe.
