Hello to all,
I am prety new here so i just wanted to wrait my post and see how it goes. This Christmas wasa disaster as my mother and my fieance got in to a huge argument and put me right in the middle of it. It was very stressful and trying to me, but i finally resolved the situation. thne the next night after my mother had left and my fience was at work, i went out to meet a friend for dinner, i took my 6 month year old daughter and we had a good ime. As i was driving home i had a feeling like i was going to pass out come over me, so i quickly puled off the side of the road, put the car in park. As i sat ther my head and body felt liek it weighed 500 lbs and i could not lift my head or nor could i do much with out feeling exausted, so i called my fieance and she cam and picked me up, on our way home we decided to stop at the hospital and checlk it out,After countless tests(ekg, eco cardio, heart stress test, and cardiac enzymes) i was released with no diagonisis. So the next dy i went to my doctor and told him what had happened. He sent me to do a CAT scan with and with out contrast and a corrodid arttery test both ca back normal. So today i went to play golf with a few friends, and everythig was good played great actually. Came home, played with my daughter, ate dinner, and went to bed, now i woke up and feel anxious, and my mind feels like it is racing. I just would like to know how to handle these situaions , and if the passing out can be caused by stress, and if it is why would it come on a day and ahalf later?? Just any answers will do i just wan it to go away and get back to normal....

no i never mentioned stress to them because i alwaws feel when you do that they just make that the reason, weather it is or not. I had a ordeal 2 years ago where i ate some raw tuna for dinner, woke up and my heart was beating 100 mph light headed diaria, and i went to the hospital, waited for like 4 hours felt better wnet home, went to a doctor, not my doctor now, and he said it was stress, well it happened like the next 4 ngiths and freeked me out, well it ended up being scombroid/histimine poising, and they about made me feel like i was going insane, because i told them my fieance was pregnant and I was under some stress

Maze,

First off I just want to say Hello and welcome to PC.

I think you have started off doing the right thing. Seeing your Doc and getting tests done to rule out any underlying conditions is the first step.

Stress can trigger a number of different physical and emotional symptoms. For me, I dont handle stress well (anymore) and I have panic attacks. A panic attack can strike anytime, out of the blu and for any reason. That is what is so horrible about it. It paralizes you with fear and your body will react to that fear with numbness, tingling and other not so pleasant symptoms. The thing to remember is, that the attacks do not last too long. I know when your in the moment it seems that they last an eternity.

When you feel one coming on, sit down (I know its hard) and close your eyes. For me, I like to do breathing excersizes initially. I slow my breathing down. I repeat to myself, in my head, that this is just an anxiety attack and nothing more. Also, trying to concentrate on other things can be a diversion.

What helped me was researching panic attacks and panic disorder. It gave me a chance to read the symptoms and feel more at ease that I was not going crazy and I wasnt going to die. It also gives you a chance to identlify with other people that suffer from the same attacks.

This place is a great place for advice and support. There is an anxiety forum here where you can post as much as you like. Talk to us about your symptoms and explain what you are feeling. It helps to put your mind at ease.

Your not alone and we are here for you.

Please keep us posted on how you are doing.

((((((maze))))))

Sorry that you had such a scary experience. I'm glad that you've found this place, and although I have no advice, am sure with the advice of everyone here and your doctor's care you'll be feeling better soon! Take care! I'm glad you are here.
