Has anyone here ever felt that they were HAPPY in their workplace? I am curious what kinds of professional experiences promote a sense of well being, and if you are working with other people, that you are a valued member of a team. What kinds of work environments made you feel good to get up and go to work every day? I'd like to hear from a range of people/ jobs if possible! (Including self-employed!)

Thanks

I'll start-- I have worked as a student, a teacher, freelance writer, office assistant, and coffee server. I am probably happiest working as a writer despite all the deadlines because I don't have to rely on anyone else, it's creative, and it is still somewhat social because you are dealing with people who enjoy the same career/ topics as you. And you can wear your pajamas to work if you need to!

Nursing and then working in Pathology when I had to leave Nursing. Both jobs need a team to work successfully and the feeling is great!...long time ago now though...

I've had around 7-9 jobs now. And I felt best when working as a cashier at a dollar store! HAH. So simple, but so true. The hours were easy, I loved everyone there and we all had a blast since it was a tiny place. It was just an awesome place to work. No drama, no fussing, no major responsibilities.

However, it was a small time job, so no pay either! But it was back in the day and just a start. When you climb more up the ladder and things get more hectic, I start to miss the simple days.

My favorite job was when I printed photos for professional photographers. I had my own room, radio, and nice equipment. There was also a digital department next door to me that I could work in if I felt like it.

I was also an assistant manager for a big store. I loved it when we were opening the store everything was brand new and exciting.
