Pat, here. slighty tipsy. inordinate amount of red wine, for my heart, and celebrating my getting two jobs today! 1. psych hospital, how appropriate is that, working the 11-7 shift (way more money) full benefits, 401k, blah, blah, blah. 2. 7-10:30 p.m. working at activist fund/membership/get your *** out and vote center four nights a week. five nights at psych hosp. i am beside myself. with joy and with theknowledge that Austin isn't ageist. like Lawton. (rotten America) is. am photographing rancher, friday, who looks like richard farnsworth and then on to lawton to start packing. am working on series, whle here, of texas ranch gates. and playing with grandson who screams every time anyone except momma picks him up! titty baby, he is. if i marry rancher, no way am i introducing him as "butch, my new husband". butch is not appropriate for a 65 year old man, with money. i will just call him "B".

other than the above, not much going on. pervert hotel parking lot last night. that was fun. fayeroe almost got his you know what. i sneak her in through the window. it is a "no pets" hotel..she has been wonderful and having a great time. so have i. big dinner party thursday night to celebrate, again, my jobs. my gay friends are besides themselves. they say that we will run wild through austin when i get here! sold cowboy prints/notecards to two stores. a store wants my silver jewelry. i just might like it here................ hahahaha..wants! it actually rained here yesterday but state burn ban is still in effect.

i am loving it. i'm not leaving PC, just rotten, America. (that's what we call Lawton) tomorrwo robert and i are doing the ranch gate photo tour...we left today and he had to go back to hotel for some emergency. now i have to find a house. austin is way pet friendly, so atleast i won't be stymied there.

i hate I-35 and the trucks. i'm learning all kinds of back ways to get places. i've also been lost several times. fayeroe just sits in the passenger seat, calmly looking ahead. occasionally she glances over as if to ask me if we are ever going to find the hotel! all these interchanges and over passes befuddle me. my mind gets more muddled than it already is!

i had training yesterday at the activist place and passed with flying colors. sure had some people scream at me about the political party that i belong to. they are members too! but frustrated. it was fun and i didn't take it personally. i can make enough trouble for myself without taking on their angst/s? can you have more than one angst? is there a plural or is it like deer, sheep, cattle?

the causes that the firm represents are all right down my alley. the next big one is SOS. Save OUr Springs. it is a water issue here. Barton Springs is threatened. i'm in heaven................now i have to move...........yuck.

I hated the traffic in Austin -- and mind you, I drive every day in the South Florida megaplex sprawl that covers three counties and includes numerous old people peeping over the steering wheel, and occasionally driving into convenience stores and canals.

Those Austin drivers in their big pick-ups come bearing down at you at high speeds, and they seem to be incredibly offended by people who dare to slow down for right and left turns!

I knew one woman, who'd moved from northern California, who pulled over onto the shoulder one day and *cried*!

But you made it! The traffic will become second nature!
