OK......

So, hubby and I are packing things up, getting ready for our long haul back to Viginia. We have finally decided on a moving company after interveiwing a few. That wasnt easy The Update.

My old boss has finally ironed out some details on my job and I have officially decided that I will return to work with them and I am set to start back there on Feb 27th. So I am kicking it into high gear trying to get all kinds of things done cause that is like only 3 1/2 weeks. YIKES!!!

The house is still on the market and we will keep it like that for a while. After a few months hubby and I will re-evaluate the situation and perhaps think about renting the house in Texas. Who knows?????

As far as the kids school goes, that seems to be the easiest to get settled. Just a phone call and a fax from school to school. The kids are really excited about going back home. We all are looking forward to it so much. I cant wait to see my mother. Although, we all agree that we will miss this wonderful weather here.

I'm stressing a little. Not alot, just a little.

Hi Jen,

Sounds good to me.

I have thought of a really positive thing about your plan. I know that youngsters like stability and familiarity, and going back to your home area will be great for them. Texas will just seem like a long holiday, and then they can settle back into a routine in a place they know and with friends they know.

Maybe you knew deep down what was the right thing to do, and it just came out when it had to.

We can always take holidays in the sun, but home is home. I have a friend from Vermont who lived in Spain for 26 years because of a family feud. Later in life, when she wasn't so well, she went home to Vermont. This happens all the time. People go home.

As for feeling stressed, I aways remember that the illness is still with me, 24/7 and try to keep it separate from what I'm doing. I don't let the illness pull my strings if I can help it.

Good luck, Jen, you're doing OK IMHO.

M :cool

PS - Because my parents moved around a lot, I don't have a feeling of home about any part of the country, but we stayed put for our daughter and she has a strong attachment to the South West of England. That kind of attachment is one of the gifts we can give to our kids.

Thanks you guys!!!! I am trying to think about the end result of this so that keeps me positive.

Myzen,

Your right, home is home. As a child I was always shuffled back and forth between my moms and dads and for a time put into a place away from my family, friends and everyone I knew. I never had a secure place to call "home". So me going home, back to VA is a huge deal for me becuase it is a place that I lived for about 11 years, the longest anywhere and it means the world to me. The kids have spend most of their life there too so I know that they feel that same sense of security. Being in Texas has been a good experience for me. I have learned alot about myself and gotten closer with my family which has made this whole trip worth it.

I will keep ypu updated as new details happen.
