As a child, I had severe emotional impairment. My emotions took over, I wasn't just a little upset, I would get a lot upset. I had severe meltdowns until I was 16. Back then diagnosed ADHD. Now I'm 29 and diagnosed schizoaffective and my problem is coming back. A couple of weeks ago it was so bad that I even went to the emergency room trying to get help controlling my emotional reactions. All they said was it was anxiety.

I'm on two mood stabilizers and I'm still an emotional wreck. I don't know what to do anymore. What do I do?

Talk to your doctor, tell them the mood stabilizers as prescribed are obviously not doing the job anymore; sounds like you are in need of a meds tweak?

Are you in therapy or otherwise dealing with your issues? Meds can do only that much. You are still gonna have - and supposed to have - emotions.

It takes time to learn to handle those and if you did not grow up in good place where you could slowly learn this... it is a problem. It can be done though.
