With my job I have to go into homes of elderly ppl. In 4 years I haven't had much trouble. Just a little here and there. Today, man, it was bad. I got bit by a dog. A chihuahua got me right behind my right knee. So I ended up in CorpCare for 3 hours. I had to have an X-ray to make sure no teeth broke off in my knee. Yeah, that's right teeth. But it was good, no teeth. Had to have it cleaned out and I'm on horse pill antibiotics. And I have to go but thursday for them to look at it again. Talk about your bad days what a day. Monty

_Sky, this is the second time the dog has bitten someone I've known about in the last six months. I had to fill out papers about the dog for the health department and they are going to be seeing about the matter. I'm not sure what they will do at this point. I just feel sorry for the owner. She's really upset about it.

OMG! That's terrible! I'm just glad that you're ok.

Is there anything they can do about the dog? I mean this is a repeated thing, from the sounds of it. She should at least put the dog up while there are visitor's in her house at the least!

Ouch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go buy some acidolphilous at a drug store, health food store, or, (I think...), places like WalMart. Take a lot of it. It will keep the antibiotics from destroying the good bacteria in your digestive system. If you have any questions, just send a pm.

I hope you feel better, and I'm so sorry that happened to you.

Hugs,

Jan

Oh Monty, I am so sorry. We could compare stories of home visits! Hope the dog has to have his teeth removed, thus no more biting and no more upset owner.

I'm not sure what they are going to do about the dog. I talked to the woman today and she's afraid that they will take her dog. After the last bite the rule was made that she is to have the dog put away in another room when anyone is there. But yesterday she forgot I was coming because she was sick. Right now it's up to animal control on what they are going to do. I have to be at the doctor's at 9:30 tomorrow to have it rechecked. It's bugging me since it's right on the backside of my knee. So everytime I bend it, it bugs me. I just have to see what the doctor say's tomorrow.

LOL, yeah I'm officially a member of the club now. Half of everyone who works here have been bitten at one point or another. One lady has had dogs jumping on her car.

I've had roaches falling off the ceiling at me at a home visit. But my favorite was one lady's house that just had pathes going through it. I asked her who was doing her shopping for her and she said my neice. And then went on to say I need to send her to the store to get me some mothballs to get these snakes out of my house. Ok, this is where panic sets in. She said I got the momma snake, but I keep finding the babies. I had her sign her care plan and I got out of that house as fast as I could. Then there was a little boy who stuck a grape up his nose when I was there. That was different. There's always something going on. Talk about your bad days Talk about your bad days Talk about your bad days Talk about your bad days Talk about your bad days Talk about your bad days Talk about your bad days Talk about your bad days Talk about your bad days Talk about your bad days I Love my job I love my job I love my job
maybe I can believe it tomorrow.

I hate that when that happens.....a day starts off bad and remains that way. I wonder why that is?......who knows.

I hope tomorrow will be a better day for you. Maybe if the day starts good it will remain that way.........it should work that way huh?

Seem I've had a bad day for a year now. It's been one thing after another for so long. I can't remember what a good day is anymore.

I went back to the doctor this morning to have my wound rechecked. It's healing well. I had a little bit of a fever. The doctor said to just keep taking the antibiotics and I should be fine.
