i got to pick her up today. she has tons of stitches and her ankles are still swollen, but no broken bones.

she is going to be crated from now on. i went and bought a huge one tonight and put a soft sleeping bag in it. the doc wants her to be quiet and i've wanted to crate train her so she can be in the house when i'm gone. and when i move, she will be used to being crated and i won't worry while i'm at school/work . everyone is getting a crate. no more time outside when i'm gone.

i'm going to sleep on sofa by her side. don't want her to be lonely.

we're both relieved that she is here. lita is even being decent for a change. Fayeroe is home!!

thanks so much for all the support for us. she's going to have a long recovery, but she'll be okay. xoxox pat

((hugs))) to all. Recovery can be as trying as the event itself, imo. It must be your love that keeps her going Fayeroe is home!!

Is there a way you can leave her inside the home without having to crate her? I'm sorry, I just can't stand the idea of any animal being locked in a cage for hours on end...

Good news!

As for crates, I think it's a good idea. I like crates, because then they have their own space, and they can go there when they want to be left alone.

I'm glad for you that she's back, and wish you both well on the recovery.

Faye's crate is extra large. i wanted her to have ample room to move around as she needs to. she acts as if she likes it. gets in it without being told and sleeps. she needs to stay quiet for quite awhile and the crate enables that.

as much as we all have hated to think about it, we may know what happened. the vet reluctantly told me that he thinks that the cuts were made by a knife. and that she was probably attacked by two people. one held her.

i found a place on my back door and on a window that had been pried but not opened. i think she attacked the intruders and they got the best of her. i found blood on the ground close to the back door. her mouth is very sore and the vet thinks that she probably bit the people several times. i hope so! teddy jack may have run from them or he could have gotten back into the enclosed yard. who knows? i wish she could tell me about it.

it infuriates me to think that someone would attack her with a knife. my first impression, seeing the cuts, was that they were slashes..but didn't go there then. it was too scary. i am so glad that we are moving.

Oh this is so bad! I'm glad she likes her crate...maybe she is able to rest better knowing she's protected in there? I had a dog once, that a neighbor used for target practice.. another story, but...

what a brave doggie! She's earning rewards for when she's all better... lots of treats coming her way I bet!

I'm so glad she is ok. People can be so awful. Fayeroe is home!!

My cousin's dog was attacked by people who broke her leg and left her. Luckily, my cousin found her in time.

Take good care of that puppy. Fayeroe is home!! She's got a good friend in you, Pat.

the vet didn't want to scare me and i didn't want to tell him what i thought...we finally decided to talk about it and he's thrilled that we're moving. raccoons, armadillos, llamas, etc. pose very little threat to us compared to humans.

she does like the crate and i think she feels safe in it right now. i hate looking at her poor legs and thighs. i wish i could have walked in when it was going on. we might not have won the battle, but they sure would have known it was a war! Fayeroe is home!! Fayeroe is home!! i pack a hefty blow when i can get my hands on something hard. Fayeroe is home!!

she is soooooo glad to be home. she had only been away one night previously and that was when colleen went into premature labor. so, we're all back to our routines now. mikee has an upper chest problem but he's on antibiotics and already his eyes are brighter and he's quit coughing. AND he wants to go outside. no way!

thanks, guys!
