How would you get a friend who works 77 hours a week doing school and extracurriculars to relax? Getting her to sleep is such a hassle. We live in a dorm and we literally have to force her to go to sleep and we're really worried. Its force to the point that we have to go up to her room and put her in bed.A few times we had to go check on her and caught her doing work.
I am concerned that it is getting worse. She is very close with the administrators because she does so many committees. There is one of them who has been trying to get her to relax and treat her body better and would not tolerate her fainting like this. Should I talk to her? |

Hi, Lexie. Yes, I would talk to that administrator, tell her what goes on in the dorm. The administrator might have more leverage to get your friend to back off some committees and sleep and eat better or go to a doctor for a checkup, etc.

You should try and find out what she is eating and drinking too, she could be taking in too much sugar and caffeine which would also make it impossible for her to sleep, and then the sugar crashes could also explain the fainting.

Moderation is the key to life! Too much work,play,food,etc.......is not good for ones health. My mother used to tell me, "J you can't do it all" I use to try and be Super Mom, work, then work at home,go go go where did it get me SICK! My body was telling me to slow down. Possibly a school counselor could speak with her? Take care.

Has a school counselor tried to get her to understand why she has such a need to over-achieve?Childhood competition and programming from parents probably are compelling her to self-destruct.Once she realizes how others are dangerously influencing her, hopefully she will be to engage in moderating self-control.
