Hi folks,

I was just wondering, are there any health or mental health websites or print publications that you regularly visit and enjoy (outside of Psych Central, of course!)...? Reply to this thread with your favorites, thanks!!

Doc John~

I have really come to like this placehttp://www.dbsalliance.org/
It offers alot of good info on Depression and Bipolar disorders. If you search hard enough theres a mood chart and everything. Hope this helps.

Some of the CME is pretty interesting stuff... Almost makes me wish I needed it... Is there a health/mh website or publication you enjoy?

(Yes, I am a geek. Sometimes even a dweeb.)

There are two other forum type sites:
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/
PsychoBabble
http://groups.google.ca/group/alt.su...ion.medication
There are a couple of regular trolls at this place, but there's also some good information.

http://www.biopsychiatry.com/antideps/
VERY eccentric, but some interesting stuff.

Sometimes eMedicine.com has good stuff, at least it has basic information.
http://emedicine.com/rc/rc/i7/depression.htm

And I do journal searches, although I gotta tell you, my favorites are those journals that have lots of free articles. I hate having to pay, when I don't quite know if it's gonna be helpful.

How's that?

Whenever I have a medical question, I consult www.webmd.com or go to www.howstuffworks.com and search for the body stuff in the human section.

Here are a few of the many I get help from:

www.health.voiceamerica.com
this site has several shows a day that-- with speakers-- can be listened to. They cover just about any subject you can imagine dealing with mental health-- from child issues to the elderly.

www.johncflanaganlcsw.com
this site is the best one I've found in dealing with PTSD-complex-- (that is from childhood trauma) The self-help articles are informative and have helped me understand myself better.

www.drugdigest.org
this site-- I actually got from a very wise member here at PsychCentral (I believe it was Tomi-- thanks!)-- it's been very helpful when looking up various medications.

well, there's a few of the ones I use.

WebMD has various monthly newsletters you can subscribe to; I get the mental health one and like it a lot. It generally has very helpful and interesting articles.

The About.com mental health and depression sites have lots of really good information as long as you stay out of the chat rooms, which are full of really rude, mean, cliquish people.
