I really hate how the people around you try to fix you. I hate how if you do not do what they say or don't recover as quickly as they want, their support starts to disappear. People say that those with mental illness push away others, but people also abandon those with mental illness. I try to talk to accept support, but if I say the wrong thing, or if heaven forbid I'm not the most optismistic person alive, then I'm obviously not helping myself. GGGGGRRRRRRRRRR!

I'm with you Laura and Candy... every step of the way!!
But don't you just wish you had "someone with skin on" that could give you the hugs and understanding that we so desperately need???

I wouldn't give body parts!! NO WAY!! Somehow, somewhere, someone is bound to come along and give me a hug. There wouldn't be much left of me to hug if I gave away body parts!! I hate it when people do stuff like that. I get that all the time because I don't make decisions as quickly as others or do things the way everyone else wants me to do them. It's my life, not theirs. People usually don't have to deal with the consequences of the behavior/action, either. We have to deal with that and sometimes it's quite painful at times.

Laura, I know *exactly* what you mean.
It's happened to me many times. I'm resistant to change and people around me get frustrated when I don't do the things I need to do to help myself. It's a difficult thing to get one's head around, but the only reason people get angry with me when I don't take their advice is because they care about me. I must remember that.

((((lightanddark)))), I deal with that too, especially with new staff at my housing program...not so with my PACT team, they help me achieve MY OWN goals...and are very supportive.
