I'm not sure where I should post this, so if this is not the appropriate forum, I apologize.

First a bit of background. I am 29 y/o happily married mother of one.

My problem started yesterday. I was eating dinner with my family, when I got this 'flash' or 'vision.' It was over almost as quickly as it began, and immediatly after I felt queasy, skin was clammy, and just an overall feeling of 'blah.' I didn't think much of it at the time, and it happened again while I was in the shower last night, again it left me feeling queasy, clammy skin, etc.

Today, it has happened a total of six times. The 'visions' last only a few seconds, and afterwards I can NOT remember what the vision was.

The last two, this evening, I could smell this smell...It seems VERY familiar to me but I can't place it......And afterwards I can't recall what exactly the odor was?? Just like I cannot remember these flashes.

I am still feeling a bit queasy.and just..out of sorts.

I don't understand why this is happening..

ANYONE have ANY clue here? it's really starting to worry me.

I wish I could answer your question, but truth be told I'm not sure...

Regardless, welcome to the board and hopefully one of the other board members will have an answer for you!

This has never happened before? WOW how scarey it must feel.

Family meals are often a memory jarrer, imo. Perhaps if you can recall what the topic was, you might have a better handle on the anxiety the situation produced. (Or maybe it was where your mind wandered, if it did.)

But that's if it's a psychological trigger.

How long has it been since you've had a complete physical? That is usually the first order of business when anything out of the ordinary happens physically.

Another thought: were you eating anything out of the ordinary? Sometimes allergies can pull some strange reactions.

Hope you've figured something out, and feel better tonight Question

what it is depends on the type of diagnosis you have.

Schitophrenia people have simular visions and they are caused by a chemical imbalance of the brain. Medication corrects the problem.

If you do not have schizophrenia and have been abused physically, or mentally it is possibly a flashback.

Flashbacks can be a sound, a picture, a smell, a taste, or physical sensations that are associated with the abuse situation.

I have different varieties and came up with my own level for them -

My Mild ones are like you discribed they come and leave just as fast.

My meduims last a bit longer but no pain involved.

The hard ones are very vivid and painful, basically take my breath away, curl the toes type.

It sounds like seizure of some kind (a la epilepsy) to me. But please don't be alarmed at this suggestion. I'm no surer than those posting above. I suggest seeing a doctor asap to see if he/she can ease your mind and help determine what is happening.

I agree.......It may be something anxiety related, but it really sounds like some type of seizure activiy.

You should probably make an appointment with your doctor and rule out anything medical.
Take care.
