I am not very knowledgable about this internet stuff, but I got a message from my computer when I was writing a PM here, that my anti-virus program blocked a trojen virus from entering my computer. Have no idea how that happened or where it came from, whether from this site or where?

I know a year ago when I first got this computer that a trojen virus successfully got onto my computer & the Geeks put it somewhere in my computer where is shouldn't effect it.

Luckily this time it was blocked from entering my computer.....guess it is something we all need to be careful with.

I got the same thing! Only when it told me a file was infected so the file got deleted...if an antivirus program is working correctly...shouldn't it prevent things like that? I have no clue!

Hiya, no need to worry, your antivirus software is performing perfectly, the threats to your computers were intercepted and destroyed by your antivirus programs.
Sadly, the internet is crawling with viruses, the only thing I can suggest is that you ensure your anti-virus packages are updated at least once a week.......

In addition, it is a good idea to have some adware and spyware removers on your computers!

If you're having serious problems with spyware and viruses, you may want to visit Major Geeks.
The following link will take you to their spyware removal procedure section, here you can download spyware removal software, there is also a full blown procedure to remove troublesome spyware and viruses.

The Link:
http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407

At the top of the page that link takes you to, there is a click-link which will take you to their support forums. If you're having persistent problems, sign-up then you can post there and get help and advice on all manner of computer issues.
Hope this helps...........
