Basically my past dx was ADHD and Emotionally Impaired as a child, and my current one is Schizoaffective disorder or bipolar with psychosis, I'm not sure of which one it is now.
Anyway, my local community mental health says my past behavior that was marked by extreme tantrum/meltdown/rage attacks is in the past and I'm being treated for the present and my issues that I have that are not being addressed by medication should be addressed by CBT. But I want some kind of peace about the past. I mean, they now say I probably had the childhood version of my adult illness, but as a kid I lacked depression and mania, I just had severe rages when I didn't like something or someone teased me. In fact, I still feel like having these rages but I catch myself before I do. Plus there is signs I have other disorders that they are not treating right now. I have bad inattention like ADHD, people have told me I have inattentive ADHD, but this has not been confirmed. Also, I have obsessiveness that resembles autism and my childhood records record I had poor social skills, but people nowadays differ in opinion if I'm socially disabled enough for this dx. I don't know if I should pressure my current mental health team to do more testing, or just let the past be the past.

Why don't you bring the question up to your mental health team?

No harm in relating to them just what you've said here perhaps. You're asking for your own well being. Don't feel that you're imposing or pressuring them. If that's why you're hesitating I mean.

I believe if you work on the present the past will work out on it's own because they are both connected. I hope everything works out well for you.
