Hi everybody! Been busy for awhile, but I thought I'd stop in and let you know the scoop.
First of all, I'd like to say 'hi and welcome' to all the newbies! This is a great place to share how you're feeling, and I know that you'll make lots of friends and get the support that you need. I know personally I have benefited greatly from the members' friendship and good advice. I hope all of you will, too.
Well, here's what's been going on lately:
We took two of our dogs to get spayed last Tuesday. Lucy, our little rat terrier, seemed to be doing well, and is still recovering nicely. Hayley, our Aussie Shepherd, tried to be as rambunctious as she had when we first got her. She jumped up on the bed one morning to wake me up, and discovered that was a bad idea. When she would not come down off the bed, I checked on her, and she was in dire need of another vet visit, due to her incision seperating. Hayley has since been to the vet and gotten stitched back up, and also received a lovely cone lampshade ensemble to wear around her head, so as not to do further damage. A welcome and the latest happenings
Needless to say, my partner and I have been taking nap shifts, in order to insure that Hayley keeps out of trouble for the next two weeks. She is to be taken out on a leash to do her business, and if she starts getting fidgety, she gets to wear the cone thing on her head. Me, I'm doing well...sorta. These recent events have made me 'trigger happy', so I've fought with D off and on about one thing or another. I really can't remember. That's the funny thing about PTSD that I'm learning, which isn't really funny....once I have an episode, I forget what the whole thing was about that started everything in the first place. Rest assured, I have taken the necessary steps towards mending hurt feelings and soothing nerves. I see my T on the 21st, and at that time, I'm asking her whether there may be any other mental health issues that might be causing my behaviour, besides ones I've already discussed with her. Maybe some additional meds may be in order, I don't know.
At any rate, I'm hangin' in there, and I wanted everyone here to know that you're in my thoughts and prayers.
*BIG HUGS* for everybody!

Crying isn't a sign of weakness. It's a sign of having tried too hard to be strong for too long.
