Hi there hunny. Oh please try not to worry about the folk you'll be sharing re~hab with. When I was in, several times, I met the most genuine and sincere people I could ever have hoped to meet anywhere. Grab it with both hands, it's gonna be a wonderful opportunity my friend. HUGS. xxxxxxx

I did an interview there today and they think i will be in there by the end of the month. I am concerned because I will be living with a bunch of crazy people most likely. I ran into one of the occupants on the way over there. He didn't have his pants on properly and he was chatting to some young mothers in the park.

I am sure you will be fine. There will be people there like you, people there who are worse off then you and folks who are better off then you as well. On the plus side at least ypu know you will not be at the bottom of the learning curve, you do have your pants on properly, right? Don't worry. Take it in stride, and call it a learning experience if nothing else.

Yes my pants are on properly. I guess I will be going there, I will treat it like being in a mental hospital, where crazy people are abundant.

Good to heat this....it's been quite a long process......please go in with a possitive outlook....I have found in the past for me it makes all the difference.

I didn't have the positive outlook in many of the situations where I needed similar kinds of help. The unknown of what to expect is not easy....but I know you will gain some good help from this

Thanks for the up date. I am glad you can find something good to say about you stay at your new residence. It is day 5, it is going to take a little bit to get used to a different way of doing things. I'm sure as you spend more and more time where you are things will continue to improve.

I'm so proud of you for doing what needs to be done and going threw with this despite you apprehension. That alone says a lot about your character. God luck and hang in there. It will get batter.

Everyone here is weird except for me and this other guy, and the rehab workers.
I am currently starving myself.

Well I am glad to here you have found some common ground with someone. Maybe some of the folks there will graduate out and new ones will come in just like you have. Hopefully you will make many new friends.

Ummmm.......Starving yourself only hurts one person you know. That person is you. So eat a biscuit sweetie.

Maybe that's what I'm doing. I ignored them and they called my parents and then they used their keys to open my room and I was in there. Then we talked about how I don't like having too much contact with mental health workers but apparently this is part of the program and it can't be avoided. I don't know what happens next, i might be evicted soon.

But then you would get NOTHING out of it. Sometimes we have to do things we DON'T want to do in order to get where we want to be....voice of experience on both sides of that...somethings i wouldnt cooperate with but in the end i only hurt myself

When you first go to a new place....it takes a lot to start feeling comfortable, safe, & secure.....& sometimes we withdraw at first & just let ourselves out a little bit at a time & sometimes contact like you have had just now with this helps you get to know them better & it helps them get to know you better......I found there is usually this kind of "DANCE" when are in a very new & very unknown environment until we start feeling more comfortable & we start to know the environment better so we feel more comfortable there. Some people adapt better than others to changes or to things they really aren't comfortable with.....but there is always a period of adaptation that is necessary for everyone....& sometimes we really feel like no-one when we arrive & feel like the "new kid on the block" & in some ways, doing what you did is a way for us to feel recognized that they would come to us personally & talk it over
