Louise,

You are so brave to make a choice like this, I know it's not easy to do. I know it's not the same thing, but back when I was drinking heavily, I made the choice to go into a long term recovery center. I didn't want to go, I hated the thought. But I learned a great deal about myself, and it was that experience that started turning my life around. I hope this will help you too. You deserve the best that life has to offer, we all do. My email is posted in my profile, if you have access to a computer, please write if you feel like it.

I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Everything will be OK.

Hugs and Love,
bp

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Louise}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}},

I think this will be a good thing for you, and I sincerely hope that you get what you need out of it. You do have so much potential if you could only see it. I wish you the best of luck too. Take care of yourself, and get better, and let us know how you're doing when you can.

Love,

This Is The Theraputic Community I may be going Too

A therapeutic community
providing high quality residential
psychotherapy for
adults with a severe emotional disturbance
in a reactive and caring environment.

The Therapeutic Community is an innovative
project that offers intensive long and short term
psychotherapy, both residentially and in a day
programme, to people suffering from severe
emotional and psychological disturbance.
The approach and methods used are specifically
for helping people to solve serious and
life-threatening problems such as
self-harm, eating disorders and
aggressive acting out.

The residential community is for those who need
a 24 hour, highly structured, intensive service to
challenge long term, self defeating behaviours
that have prevented them from living successfully
and satisfyingly in the wider community.

The Community is an approved contractor for
residential services with Birmingham City
Council Social Services Department as a
residential home for 10 people

All the people who join the Community have
problems with relationships and the business of
being together on a daily basis raises many
issues and provides opportunities for learning.
The most important of these opportunities is to
make secure atachments to members of staff and
other clients and to claim this as a place in which
to belong and feel safe and accepted. There is a
lot of support, companionship, laughter, love and
commitment. members are expected to engage
actively in their own therapy and to identify for
themselves what they need. The therapeutic
process is based on a series of contracts about
how these needs will be met, and a lot of
structure is provided which creates safety and
enables people to function within the
Community as they develop the internal
resources to order their own lives.

Just got back from my meeting at the unit-It went very well I dont know why I was so nervous !! Had a really good talk with one of the therapists about all my worries and thoughts about the community-For the first time in ages I actually felt Like I was been listened too, I feel so much more positive now and am ready to get better, We talked alot about the routine- And the group therapy- one of my biggest fears- They have therapy there every day except for a fri and sunday,I am going back for a 3 day assessment on the 5th jan to live in and see what happeneds there and get a feel for the place ,The woman who I saw today said that I should be living there by the 15th jan !!! I cant wait to go now !!!! I will keep you all posted Of what happeneds,Thanks all for the positive replies to my post. Its nice to know that Im actually liked :-)

It sounds like a good program. I am so happy that you are ready to get better. Just saying goodbye :-( Thanks for telling us about it, and if you get a chance I'd love to have updates. You have so much potential, and I hope that this gives you a chance to realize some of it.

Take care of yourself, and remember that we're thinking of you!
