Brain Function: The Limbic System & PTSD – Video lecture overview of brain systems in relation to PTSD.

I hope this can be clicked on and viewed. It talks a lot about the brain and the end part discusses PTSD and why that happens. But, there are plenty of other things discussed in this video that are really facinating.
Including what it is that makes someone "gay" as well.

So, I thought I would share.

Oh an you guys that think women are more emotional, well, yes we are, and we have reasons for it. Sorry but you will have to try to keep understanding that our brains are just more highly intellectually emotional than your brains are.

((Thank you Open Eyes))

it makes me want to cry right now, with some knowledge of this-- it is going to be a difficult road wont it....

But at the same time- I am glad to be informed, and to listen to the study-- it helps with "validation" of the struggle i suppose, since there are studies of this--

it's sad to me that ptsd brain is being damaged due to over acting hormones that are going on constantly due to either triggers or not 'letting go of things' and being reminded.

This actually-- I will need to watch again, I skipped over a lot of the sex stuff right now and went to the end where he talked more on PTSD and snow white example..

and actually-- silly Beauflow actually was in away question PTSD for herself earlier due to she was like- what symptoms do i have again (had a good flighty day earlier lol except at work where I acknowledged triggers)... the sad thing is that both pdocs agreed with that dx... and i get some of it... this video helped me get a little more of what I watched.

thanks

((beauflow))),

What makes sense to me now more than ever is the desire to "avoid toxic situations and people". It is our brain's own way of trying to heal and stay safe. I do believe that different people have different levels of sensitivities. That if a person is allowed to have immediate validation after a trama and rest and counceling that it can prevent much of the harm that takes place in the brain. And I truely feel that by raising the understanding of what hurts and "why" etc a person can work on consciously overcomeing, but it does take time and the right counceling.
